I buy 20 packs of 750gr of fava bean soup.

I receive the food grinder, the hotplate.

The day before, I made shelves for my Vevor dehydrator. I cycle around looking for wood. Going down the amstelveenseweg, someone is putting out two big wooden pannels of around 120x150cm. Every week there is so much stuff around. Wood and timber are abundant, ikea kallax are in every corner. It is a rich country with excess of things.

Rijksakademie Art Book fair.

PAPAYA mag the first was shown there. Inventory drawings, kimball tile paintings, Frederique’s drawings and the bissara on the side. I sold all the pods I had. Six I think. and many portions of soup. Ansuya Blom reminded me how much the art world is dead, It kills your imagination and what’s possible. I agree and that’s why I am now excited more about selling soup than expressing myself in a drawing for someone to have it exhibited in an arbitrary place and time. That’s the other thing and it might sound right winged: artist life makes you always chase opportunities than rely on someone else’s decision: to grant you money or to invite you to something. Living in a constant uncertainty, waiting and being in a constant begging mode. I miss having the satisfaction of a good old fashioned transaction of, I make soup, you buy it.

The Macarido Fava beans seem to not be coming anymore. The boss of Toubkal said he can’t order any. I to go Bessaha shop (Mercatorplein) and there isn’t any. There’s all the others: unpeeled fava beans, black eyed peas, split peas etc but no peeled fava beans.

I went to Tanger Markt in Osdorp. Big shop with bulk products and discounts. With a wide range of products covering indian, north african, and big families on a budget needs. Someone in the stairs playing quran recitation by children on his phone was begging for money.

Then I go to Yakhlaf Osdorp. Good vibes, lively and staff smiling and active. I found fava beans on discount for 1.5 euros per 750gr packs. I get Ouazzania with the moroccan flag, and cumin powder.

Today i try for the first time the VEVOR dehydrator. I cooked 3kg of 2.5 fava and 0.5 split peas. Split peas come from Canada, all the brands I checked today.
